Of all the cars I have owned, nothing gets attention like this Rover. 6 wheels makes anything undeniably cooler and this thing is wonderful. We recently used it for a Car Trek overlanding series that will air around Christmas and the reliability was excellent over the 1,500 miles it was driven. It also served as the general support vehicle for the previous series.

We imported it into the US in June of 2022. It was originally a 2-door 1976 Range Rover that was refurbished in Switzerland in 2012. At that time it was rebodied with a 1989 four-door body and converted to left hand drive. The original six-wheel chassis was restored and galvanized. The vehicle was owned by an art dealer and collector in Paris for the past 10 years. For that reason and use, there is not currently a third row or any jump seats fitted in the back. At 6’5” I can lay flat behind the seats.

The engine is a 1989 3.9 liter Rover EFI V8 with RPI Engineering mods. Driveline, 6-wheel disc brakes and mechanicals are from the 1989 Range Rover. Seats are from a 1995 Range Rover. The gas motor gives you a lot more highway usability than the diesels would. The car will do mid 80s but is very comfortable cruising in the mid 70s. It slows a bit on long uphill climbs but it is a totally usable truck.

-Mounted on basket: Axe and Shovel with Smittybilt mount, Traction Boards, (2) 5-Gallon Gas Cans, Spare wheel
-Custom front bumper by 4x4 Labs with new Warn VR Evo 10S winch with synthetic line and bluetooth remote, D-rings, 2 x Hella 450 Amber Fog lights
-Limb riser cables
-New Atlantic British aluminum front skid plate and front differential guard
-7 x new Falken WildPeak A/T3W 235/85r16 all
-terrain tires
